Australia's diagnostic imaging demand is not easing. The latest AIHW diagnostic services update shows that Medicare-subsidised imaging has grown over the past decade, which should put workforce planning firmly back on the agenda for radiology teams, employers and health system leaders.

For overseas-trained radiologists watching Australia, the pathway conversation is changing. The important point is not whether a process sounds faster. It is whether the candidate, role and scope of practice are aligned with the pathway that actually applies.
